24, but even if I have to admit he had lost his way since the 5th excellent season 6 and 7 are more and more ridiculous (even by the standards 24 in) 24 Redemption (for me) seemed a bit lame and rather useless, and my hope for this last season was not high. How wrong I was ...
season 8, this time moving to New York and the main plot concerns a peace agreement between the United States, Russia and Arab countries fictitious. The terrorists are determined to terminate the treaty by assassinating Arab president (an amazing performance of Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor) before it is signed. Of course there are the usual tricks and turns (although - thankfully - not as much as in season 7), and, inevitably, the now retired Jack is reluctantly brought to the forefront to save the day.
This is not so much as the new
24 Hours, but a return to the old style. Tension builds slowly time passes, there are many more (like the old days) to create tension as the whole scene out. Of course, (of course) a lot of dramatic things happen, but it seemed much more balanced and less in October that it had become - as it used to be. That said, however, when things do not heat as it is explosive and intense. No spoilers, but the last 4 episodes in particular are as good as any time of year. And it is still there for 5 and a breathtaking finale! ...
